Above the Fold: Jackie Bennet, 1979-1983
In 1979, the Times hired Jacqueline (Jackie) Bennett, to fill in as part-time photographer and darkroom processor. Bennett worked at the Times when the newsroom switched from typewriters to computers and production of the paper was consolidated at the Beverly plant. Darkroom work, however, remained at GDT’s headquarters. While the bulk of Bennett’s work for the Times took place 1980-1982, she continued to freelance until 1985.
