Above the Fold: Bart Piscitello 1970s-2000s
Gloucester native Bart Piscitello occupied many roles at the GDT from the 1970s to early in the 21st century. Piscitello's rirst role was time-consuming and relatively dangerous. He operated a linotype machine, a hot metal type setting system that predated Atex and PCs. From there, Piscitello moved into the production department where he worked primarily as a color technician. Around this time he took an interest in photography. The hobby soon turned professional as he began freelancing in1974. Piscitello had no formal training but photography and developing came naturally to him. His talents won him numerous awards and recognitions.
